Chanukah Comes to the Heart of Germany With Menorah Lighting in Berlin

Chabad-Lubavitch of Berlin opened the city’s Chanukah observances Tuesday night with a public menorah lighting at the Brandenburg Gate attended by 2,000 people. Children from the day school operated by the center kicked off the event, after which Mayor Klaus Wowereit assisted Rabbi Yehuda Teichtal, co-director of Chabad-Lubavitch in Berlin, in lighting the menorah.
