New Book Brings Spirit of Chanukah Alive With Eight Timeless Stories

A new compilation of eight Chanukah stories brings to life the power of Jewish faith and self-sacrifice in an easily digestible format for young readers.

Corresponding to each day of Chanukah, the stories of Eight Chanukah Tales – which average 10 pages in length – span the globe and time as they detail different snippets of Jewish life, from the tale of Reb Shmelke, the rabbi from Zavolov who entertains a group of Nazi soldiers to save the community from certain death, to that of Jerusalem Jew who joins the Maccabees.

Sprinkled with Yiddish and Hebrew words, the compilation of stories by the late Nissan Mindel – a scholar and aide to the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, of righteous memory, who besides other works penned many stories for children – is published by the Kehot Publication Society.

"Eight Chanukah Tales is sure to become an all-time favorite," wrote reviewer Debbie Shapiro, "and is the perfect Chanukah gift to give to the young and to the young at heart."

Eight Chanukah Tales can be purchased online here.
